I have extensive training in family of origin issues better known as childhood Posttraumatic Stress Disorder or Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA). If a person was traumatized in childhood this often affects the partner they chose in adulthood. Frequently the past can be repeated. One of my goals in treatment is to help the individual work through those issues so they do not interfere with the present especially in marital, work and other relationships.
